Case study

The paper "Design of Data Structure Definitions for microdata" was prepared in the context of the "making data usage easier, especially for policy use" priority agreed in the SDMX 2020 agenda. It has been written from the perspectives, experience and practices of the European Central Bank and the Deutsche Bundesbank with the microdata collection and application of SDMX. The paper's objective was to flag the issues and challenges which are typical for microdata when designing a Data Structure Definition using the current version 2.1 of the SDMX standard.
