Description and main purpose of the software
Fusion Registry Enterprise Edition is a fully integrated SDMX data and metadata management system covering structural metadata, reference metadata, data collection, data validation, data transformation and data dissemination. All versions of SDMX-ML (1.0, 2.0 and 2.1) are supported, plus SDMX-EDI.
At the heart of the system is a syntax-independent set of SDMX components allowing structures and data loaded in one version / syntax to be easily retrieved in a different version and syntax. Multiple formats are supported for data collection including SDMX, CSV and Excel. Data can be similarly disseminated in SDMX-ML, CSV and Excel, plus SDMX-JSON and RDF. Other formats can be supported through plug-in extensions.
Fusion Registry Enterprise Edition supports the SDMX standard web service REST API for structures and data, plus services for data load, data validation and data transformation. A client-side JavaScript API called IM-JS is also provided for developing Registry driven web applications such as custom data visualisation tools and dissemination web sites. Users require only a standard web browser to access the graphical user interface (GUI) which provides the flexibility to deploy the software either on-premises, or as a cloud service. The included command-line interface is useful for scripting batch processes.
Fusion Registry Enterprise Edition is highly scalable. The software operates just as effectively on a desktop PC as in an enterprise-grade production architecture. Its persistent in-memory database, load-balancing and cache management features allow multiple-instance, high-performance and high-availability architectures to be created for mission-critical applications.
Fusion Registry Enterprise Edition comes bundled with Fusion Security for user authentication and role management (Microsoft Active Directory can also be used), and FusionXL – an add-in which allows users to explore, author and maintain Registry structures and data using Microsoft Excel. Fusion Node is an optional light-weight edge server which integrates with Fusion Registry Enterprise Edition to support distributed data dissemination and data collection use cases.

Further information
The software is provided as a Java web application meaning that it can be deployed to any computing platform with a Java Runtime Environment of 1.7 or greater including Windows, Linux and Solaris. A “web application container” is also required – Apache Tomcat (http://tomcat.apache.org) is recommended for this purpose.
