Name of the tool: Statistics Metadata-driven Analysis & Reporting Tool (SMART)
Owner: International Labour Organization (ILO), Department of Statistics (ILOSTAT)
Description and main purpose of the software
The SMART (Statistical Metadata-driven Analysis and Reporting Tool) is a statistical processor and transcoding tool able to produce datasets by processing microdata or aggregate data in several formats, according to the structural metadata read from a Dataflow or DSD. The output files can be generated in diverse formats, intended for analysis, data reporting or to feed a dissemination platform.
In particular, it can be a very useful tool to produce SDMX datasets for SDG (or any) data reporting, while a proper reporting platform able to produce SDMX datasets is not yet in place. It is also foreseen as a “Swiss knife” to produce input data for .Stat version 7 and the upcoming .Stat Suite.
