The Ownership Group for SDMX implementation in Balance of Payments (BOP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and National Accounts (NA) is pleased to inform you that the comments received from the organisations that tested the DSDs have been taken into account, and that updated DSDs have been made available. The release fixes some mistakes detected by data providers in the V1.0 release of September 2013. In addition, some codes needed in the context of data cooperation between international organisations were added.

The SDMX artefacts are still hosted on the National Accounts pilot registry (http://nac.sdmxregistry.org) pending the availability of the SDMX Global Registry.

Summary of main changes made

  • Missing codes for ESA Government Finance Statistics (GFS) tables have been added to the sector code list (issue log #844).
  • Inconsistencies in the coding related to employment have been removed. This required the counterpart sector / area dimensions to be added to the regional statistics DSD (issue log #996).
  • Some codes for area aggregates have been corrected (issue log #908).
  • The COICOP code list used in table 5 has been updated to fully resemble ECOICOP (issue log #904).
  • The unit code list was fully aligned with the currency code list used in BOP.
  • Some codes have been added to facilitate data exchange between international organisations (such as price codes for rebased series).
  • Mistakes found in Excel visualisation templates will be corrected on that basis.
Please note that the structures are backwards compatible. In case the changes do not affect the templates you have been using, no corrections are necessary. In case you did not yet link the artefacts to your databases, it is recommended to base your work on the newest available version.
